TOP 6 Free Apps that will transform your …

Are you in the category of wanting to make your music band the best it can be, but can never seem to finish anything?

We want to help people like you to get what you deserve. Here we bring some top six free apps that can change your destiny towards success.

  1. GOOGLE CALENDAR

      (Free)

Time management the one of the important keys for success. This one might seem obvious but Google Calendar is the world’s most popular digital calendar, and for good reason. Managing your gigs, rehearsals and meetings can get simple pretty fast! However, the ability to see all your upcoming events, set reminders and even easily share your calendars between all band members means that no one has an excuse for not knowing when your next rehearsal is!

Most people already have a google account and, in addition to the fact that it’s completely free, makes this a no-brainer for getting organised on your journey to building your name!

  1. TRELLO

      (Free)

Trello is a super simple task manager app for everyone in your band, group or management team to know exactly what has to be done and by whom, what is being done and what goals and tasks you’ve already completed!

Tip: My recommendation is to create a board named after your artist/band name and use 3 lists to organise all your tasks into ‘To Do’, ‘Doing’ and ‘Done’. This is by far the easiest way to get started and you can always add more lists later for things like meetings, rehearsals or anything else that comes your way!

  1. BANDSINTOWN MANAGER

     (Free)

Bandsintown is exactly what the name suggests. It lists every gig, concert and music event that’s going on in your area. It’s a great way, not only to see when your favourite artists are playing but also to discover brand new artists.

The Manager App allows you to promote and manage your own events. And events that you create on Bandsintown automatically get created on Facebook, saving you time! You can also talk directly to your fans who have RSVP’d your upcoming event so you can start to build up your relationships and thank your fans for their incredible support!

  1. SPOTIFY FOR ARTISTS

     (Free)

If your music is up on Spotify (which it should be!), the Spotify for Artists app allows you to see loads of data regarding your music. It is the ultimate tool to improve your Spotify page and hopefully make it more noticeable. The platform is band-friendly as several members can have access to the account and make changes or check out stats according to what access they were granted. For example, it shows you what kind of people are listening to your music. You can see where in the world your music is most popular, see what playlists you’re featured on, check your stream count, check your account balance, change settings, and even put up merchandise for sale!!

You can use the information to do things like better target your audiences, find out where you should be gigging the most and seeing when your paycheck is coming!

  1. Sound trap

    (Free)

An easy-to-use collaborative platform is Soundtrap, which is owned by Spotify. Soundtrap is a modern DAW that is entirely online, and can be a great resource to record your own music, create beats with its extensive collection of instruments and loops, start a podcast, or send and edit a track to friends from different social media platforms to collaborate on your sessions!

The interface is great for beginners, so anyone could get started right away. After a free 1 month trial, Soundtrap does have monthly fees (depending on level you want) but with the Basic version, you can work on up to five projects, with 210 instruments and sounds, and 900 loops.

  1. Pibox music

    (Free)

Pibox Music is a service for artists, producers, and engineers that offers mix reviewing, communication, file sharing, and cloud storage in one place, making collaboration simple. This app, in fact, gives you the ability to organize, review, and share notes on your mixes by highlighting and commenting on specific parts of a track. Whether you’re mixing your own music in collaboration with your band members, or sending updates to a client, Pibox is very useful in terms of organizing and collecting feedback in one place. Pibox includes features such as real-time chat, personal cloud storage, screen sharing, and two interesting time-saving features for music producers: a transposition of the track, so that vocalists can adjust it for their vocal takes themselves, and a system that automatically determines the key and BPM of the track.
